Seagha is renamed Port-I-Com
In order to provide the port and logistics communities with the technical and ICT support that they deserve in these challenging times of globalisation, the operational activities of Seagha were sold off to the Porthus IT company in Lier at the end of 2007.
To avoid confusion between the operational activities transferred to Porthus and the new strategic ICT policy activities of Alfaport Antwerp, it was decided that Seagha should change its name to Port-I-Com.
A new manager, Patrick Geerinck, has been appointed to lead this transition. Patrick Geerinck was for many years involved in developing Seagha with a large shipping group in Antwerp, and so he is familiar both with the business aspects and with the technical ICT aspects. Portaal asked him about the future plans for Port-I-Com.
