To achieve its objectives, Alfaport Antwerp operates in five main areas:
Alfaport Antwerp defends the interests of companies in its member associations, by putting forward their concerns and defending their position with the authorities and organisations concerned. Through its membership of the board of directors of the Flemish Ports Association (FPA), it defends the interests of the Antwerp port community, not only at local level but also at Flemish and federal level.
Through our website, e-newsletter, circulars, press releases and annual report, companies are able to keep informed of changes in regulations, the progress of dossiers etc. The "Portaal" quarterly newsletter contains information on all matters of concern to the Antwerp port community.
PR & PROMOTION
Alfaport Antwerp frequently organises networking events such as port lunches, seminars etc., frequently in collaboration with other partners.
Acting through Portilog Alfaport Antwerp helps to organise high-level, practical training and seminars to meet the needs of customers in the shipping and logistics industries.
Port-I-Com is the ICT strategy unit within Alfaport Antwerp. It concentrates mainly on analysing the ICT requirements for the port-related and logistics community and drawing up a corresponding strategy.
Alfaport Antwerp often operates on a bottom-up approach. Workgroups are set up with experts in a particular field. In this way Alfaport Antwerp brings together all the knowledge and experience available within the port of Antwerp about the matter concerned, thus generating maximum exchange between Alfaport Antwerp, its member associations and the companies that belong to them. Together with the experts Alfaport Antwerp seeks out the best solutions for a successfully functioning port.
