23/06/2010 - Alfaport disappointed with western tangent
Press release 31 March 2010:
Alfaport Antwerp has learned of the draft 2020 Master Plan proposed by the Flemish government. This plan contains a number of good elements, such as the construction of an eastern tangent. However, Alfaport Antwerp is disappointed about the proposal for a western tangent, as well as the lack of toll-free passage through the Liefkenshoek tunnel for internal traffic within the port.

13/01/2010 - Dutch go-ahead for Scheldt deepening
Press release 13 January 2010:
Antwerp Port Authority and Alfaport Antwerp have expressed their satisfaction wiht the decision by the Dutch Council of State overturning the stay of deepening work in the Western Scheldt. This decision means that dredging will be able to start in the shortest possible time.

Press release 9 October 2009:
Alfaport Antwerp, the federation of port companies and logistics service providers in the port of Antwerp, welcomes today's decision by the Dutch government to go ahead with de-poldering, but remains wary. The federation's managing director Rudi De Meyer stated that "this decision brings the Dutch government back into line with the commitments laid down in the Scheldt Treaties of December 2005. This is absolutely positive, as it represents a first step towards actually going ahead with the dredging work, but there are various other steps that remain to be taken."

De Vlaamse Havenvereniging (d.i. de koepelfederatie van de private havengemeenschappen van Oostende, Zeebrugge, Gent en Antwerpen) pleitte op 27 oktober 2009 tijdens een hoorzitting in de Kamer van Volksvertegenwoordigers over de douane voor een sterk partnership tussen de handel en de douane en meer autonomie voor de administratie douane & accijnzen.

Alfaport Antwerpen, de federatie van havengebonden en logistieke ondernemingen in de Antwerpse haven, meent dat de gecombineerde brug-tunnel constructie zoals ze door BAM wordt voorgesteld, het enige realistische project is om op korte termijn de mobiliteitsknoop rond Antwerpen te ontwarren.

Alfaport Antwerpen, de federatie van havengebonden en logistieke ondernemingen in de Antwerpse haven, reageert verbolgen op het Nederlandse voorstel om een consortium opnieuw alternatieven voor ontpoldering te laten onderzoeken. Ze reageert daarmee op een voorstel in die zin van Nederlands minister Verburg, gisteren in de Nederlandse tweede kamer.

28/07/2009 - Suspension deepening Western Scheldt
Press relaease 28 July 2009:
The decision by the Dutch Council of State to suspend the routing decree and the implementation permits for upgrading the navigation channel in the Western Scheldt threatens to once more delay the deepening of the Western Scheldt on the Dutch side of the border by several months. "This goes against the treaties previously signed with the Netherlands and is totally unacceptable," says Rudi De Meyer, managing director of Alfaport Antwerp.

Alfaport Antwerpen, de federatie van havengebonden en logistieke ondernemingen in de Antwerpse haven, heeft kennis genomen van de alternatievenstudie van ARUP/Sum. Alfaport Antwerpen heeft in het verleden steeds aangedrongen op een totaal-aanpak van de mobiliteit in en rond Antwerpen. Onder deze totaal-aanpak verstaat Alfaport Antwerpen een ‘én én’ verhaal. Een bijkomende Scheldekruising – die nodig is vanuit algemeen mobiliteitsoogpunt - moet daarbij gepaard gaan met een optimalisering van de verbinding E17–Liefkenshoektunnel.
